Head Housekeeper

Oakminster Healthcare are looking for friendly and caring individuals to join our Housekeeping team who provide cleaning services for our care homes.
We believe our staffs are one of our most valuable resources in enhancing the quality of life for our service users, who are at the centre of everything that we do. The House Keeper is part of the care team and as such will have some contact with residents. All staff must be friendly and approachable when working with or near residents.
Hours – 27.5 hours per week
Salary and benefits – Negotiable
The role and key responsibilities are:
• Support, lead and supervise a House Keeping team in promoting a high standard of cleanliness.
• Allocate work to make sure all the cleaning is carried out where and when it is needed.
• Make sure staff are available for routine cleaning as well as unexpected emergency situations.
• Ensure all the rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
• Protect equipment’s and make sure there are no inadequacies.
Additional Duties:
• To vacuum floors, dust and clean ornaments and surfaces and perform any other cleaning required by under the direct orders of the Nurse on duty.
• This work will include high dusting and washing down paintwork especially in the public areas, e.g. hall, sitting rooms, staircase, and lifts.
• To supervise the Domestic staff in keeping home clean and tidy at all times.
• To spot clean carpets every day, where necessary.
• To empty wastebaskets.
• To clean up the laundry room.
• To remove the used linen to Laundry.
• To clean all rooms thoroughly once a fortnight basis.
• To clean all high and low areas as required.
